Protect Yourself from Scams and Fraud?

How we protect renters against fraudulent listings.

Online rentals offer convenience but also pose risks of scams and fraud. At Livly, we aim to provide a reliable and comprehensive library of rental listings, all of which are listed by professional property managers and verified for your peace of mind. However, fraudsters may still attempt to deceive users and exploit their hard-earned money. By working together, we can make our online marketplace safer for everyone. While we diligently strive to ensure a positive experience for our users, we cannot guarantee that our site is entirely free from false or fraudulent listings.

What We Do:

  1. Verification of Listings: All listings on Livly are listed by professional property managers and verified to enhance trust and safety for our users. Managers can only connect listings to Livly from thier property management software.

  2. Warnings for Unverified Listings: We alert users when viewing listings that have not yet been verified, allowing you to exercise caution.

  3. Prompt Action on Suspicious Listings: We quickly review and remove listings reported as suspicious or found to be inappropriate.

  4. Cooperation with Law Enforcement: We fully support law enforcement investigations related to listing fraud.

  5. Independent Investigations: We conduct our investigations into suspicious and fraudulent listings and take appropriate legal action when necessary.

What We Ask You to Do:

  1. Be Vigilant for Red Flags: Look out for signs of scams, such as rental offers significantly below market value or landlords pushing for a quick deal.

  2. Avoid Wiring Money: Legitimate property managers will not ask for payment via wire transfer, especially to an overseas account or through services like Western Union or MoneyGram.

  3. Stay Skeptical of Other Listing Services: Be cautious of scammers impersonating well-known listing services or requesting funds through escrow accounts.

  4. Verify Affiliation: Be wary of anyone claiming to represent our platform and asking for money. Livly does not handle transactions between landlords and renters.

  5. Be Wary of Dramatic Stories: Be cautious if the property manager shares a dramatic story, like being abroad and needing to rent urgently. Legitimate property managers will allow property tours before requesting a deposit.

By staying vigilant and following these guidelines, you can protect yourself from potential scams and ensure a safer rental experience. If you encounter any suspicious listings on our platform, please report them to us immediately. Your cooperation helps us maintain the integrity of our marketplace and protect our community from fraudulent activities.

Thank you for your trust in Livly. We remain committed to providing a secure and positive experience for all our users.
